Wootton Babies & Toddlers
Wootton Babies and Toddlers group has, until recently, met each Thursday morning during term time at the Community Centre. and attracted between 6 and 8 babies/toddlers with their mothers, grannies or carers. Unfortunately a few of the mums who helped with the group have now returned to work, or are expecting to be busy in the autumn with new babies, and business has had to be temporarily suspended. If you would be interested in helping to run the group then please contact Melanie Fraser on 739939. The room is already set up with toys etc, so this would simply involve collecting the money (£1 per child per week), passing payment for room hire to community coffee (which takes place at the same time) and organizing a rota for the regular mums to bring in milk, juice and biscuits.
Mums and Tots Song
This takes place at the Wootton C of E Primary School on Thursday afternoons during school term time from 2.10-3.00 pm at Wootton CofE School. This is followed by a tea shop within the school which you are very welcome to join. For further information please contact the school on 01865 735643.
Wootton and Dry Sandford Pre-School
Wootton and Dry Sandford Pre-School takes place daily, Monday to Friday from 9.15 am to 12.00pm in the new Community Centre.
The pre-school caters for children from the ages of two and a half to five years old. It has a staff of four local women and is run by a committee of parents. Susan Bennett is the current supervisor and Diane Welsh is the Assistant Supervisor.
The organisers and staff work hard to provide a range of structured activities for the mainly local children who attend. These include story time and singing, painting and crafts, outings and outdoor play using a good range of toys and equipment. A fruit snack with milk or water is provided mid-morning. From time to time the children and staff join in with the Thursday morning coffee sessions in the Old Folks Room.
The pre-school is regularly Ofsted inspected and the last inspection produced a good report. Lately the pre-school has run at around its maximum capacity of 24 children. September tends to be a quieter month as some of the children move on to school.
The fee for each morning session (9.15 am - 12.00 noon) is £6. Parents are encouraged to be involved by helping out with the children and serving on the Committee. For further information please contact Susan Bennett on 326 865.
Tiddlers Group (0-4yrs)
Tiddlers Group takes place on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month from 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm at St Peter’s Church. Further information can be obtained by contacting the Rev. John and Mrs Jane Cooper on 01865 735661.
Dolphins Children’s Worship (4+yrs)

Cub Scouts
