Pre-School

The pre-school caters for children from the ages of two and a half to 5 years old. It operates in the main hall of the Community Centre, has a staff of four local women and is run by a committee of parents. Susan Bennett is the current supervisor and Diane Welsh is the Assistant Supervisor.
The organisers and staff work hard to provide a range of structured activities for the mainly local children who attend. These include story time and singing, painting and crafts, outings and outdoor play using a good range of toys and equipment. A fruit snack with milk or water is provided mid-morning. From time to time the children and staff join in with the Thursday morning coffee sessions in the Old Folks Room.
The pre-school is regularly Ofsted inspected and the last inspection produced a good report. Lately the pre-school has run at around its maximum capacity of 24 children. September tends to be a quieter month as some of the children move on to school.
The fee for each morning session (9.15 am - 12.00 noon) is £6. Parents are encouraged to be involved by helping out with the children and serving on the Committee. For further information please contact Susan Bennett on 01865 326865.
